For the site’s inaugural game, I thought it would be appropriate to choose a classic game. Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises, and with good reason. One reason why this series became so popular is due to the release of Donkey Kong Country back in 1994. This game is known for its beautiful track list, with the music corresponding to the mood perfectly. Songs such as Aquatic Ambiance and Forest Frenzy have become cult classics to listen to and can bring on a wave of nostalgia for those who played the game when it first came out.
Simian Segue give you that overworld feeling. It sets the tone that this game will be un and adventurous. Due to its lightheartedness, the player does not feel antsy or afraid, but rather delighted and intrigued to venture forth and conquer the game. It also its soft enough to warrant a feeling of waiting, because this theme is for the map, it music present the mood of anticipation so that the player feels ready to challenge the next level.

Aquatic Ambiance is arguably the most popular track from the game. enter a water level with relaxing almost psychedelic music. Upon the listening to this track the player actually will feel as if they are in this underwater realm. The music helps keep the relaxed flow to the level and invites the player to pace themselves and relax. While it may be hard to relax while when you have different sea creatures attacking you, somehow listening to Aquatic Ambiance will melt those fears away.
Donkey Kong Country Forest Frenzy Secret
Forest Frenzy is honestly a groovy track with great beats and a tight rhythm. It compliments the gameplay perfectly, and players will feel that each movement by the Kongs will feel in sync with the music itself. The music correlates directly with the gameplay, and the easiest way to progress through the level is to keep a rhythm to your movements. The sounds of the forest come alive, and players must bounce along in order to stay alive. Just focus in on the music and you will be good to go.
